Established in 2005, this calm Flagler beach home was very quant. Between St. Augustine and Daytona this was a perfect getaway for any family. A beautiful five bedroom house is a cozy place for any family to stay. Located right across the street is Flagler’s most popular restaurant, Snack Jacks, and behind this getaway are the beautiful beaches of Flagler.

A place so beautiful is almost too good to be true. Just 2 ½ years after being built tragedy struck this quiet town. On May 15, 2007 the family of Winger took a 2week vacation in this lovely home. A family of 5 took a trip that they wish they could take back. Three days into the trip as Jason and Julian Winger left for the beach they locked Justin(10), Jenny(8), and Jonathan(5) in the bottom floor of the house to play. The parents appeared to be ordinary people, but deep down they were ruthless and abusive parents. After several days of being locked in the lower part of this Flagler vacation spot, the children found themselves in a dark place. While playing games any child would play the children came across an old painting. The painting depicted the fallen angels of Lucifer, Drake and Darin. These two children were known for their abducting of child’s souls.

Across from this painting was a mirror, rumored to be where the souls were kept. It is said to have been kept completely intact for thousands of years. Knowing nothing of the demonic presence of these two items the Winger children continued to play. After many hours the children had broken the mirror. And the souls were said to be released from the imprisonment. Angry with the children, Drake and Darin swore to punish the children, Justin, Jenny, and Jonathan unaware of this plot enjoyed their solitude of the bottom floor.

May 21, 2007. The downstairs door had been unlocked and the kids wondered upstairs. Justin had wondered into the master bedroom where he knew his parents were staying. He took the wooden baton (their father would beat them with) to hide it from his parents. Jenny walked into the kitchen to find her brothers some food. Knowing they did not have a lot of time the children ran upstairs to hide. The children ran to the 3rd floor to look around, the bedrooms had nothing in them, no beds, no lights. The only thing they found were two candles laying on the floor of the rooms.

They children heard the front door open and their parents started screaming because the bottom floor door was opened. The kids frightened ran to the porch and stepped over the rail to hide on the roof. Mr. Winger so infuriated slamming doors shut downstairs came across the mirror. Picking up a large piece of glass started stomping up the stairs to the 3rd floor. After noticing the footprints of his children walking towards the porch, he locked the door trapping the kids on the roof.

While Mr. and Mrs Winger left, Justin concerned about the Florida heat attempted to lowered Jenny to the second floor balcony. Successfully Jenny made her way into the house through the kitchen. Running upstairs to unlocked the porch door, Jenny ran as fast as she could, only to be stopped by the mirror which had been completely restored, looking into the mirror she notice two figures standing behind her, Jenny turned around as fast as she could, but there was no one there. Turning back around the mirror was gone, the only thing that was there was the large piece of glass their father had dropped. Jenny picked up the glass and unlocked the door. Helping her younger brother down from the roof Jonathan made his way back downstairs. As Jenny followed Justin stopped upstairs noticing a doorway he had not been through on his first trip upstairs. As he walked through he noticed that there were two lit candles on a table. Justin blew out the candles and turned around and the doorway had been replaced by the broken mirror. Jonathan and Jenny were hidden in the garage, hoping to keep hidden from their father, and trying to protect her younger brother Jenny held onto the shattered glass.

Many hours went by and Jenny was concerned about her older brother, Justin. Jenny handed the piece of glass to Jonathan and made her way upstairs. Sneaking upstairs Jenny approached the third floor but could not find Justin. As she crept towards the stairs she stood right in front of the two fallen angels. Darin and Drake angry that the children had broken the mirror lunged towards Jenny. Jenny ran toward the roof she had hidden on before. She was safe for the time being. Jonathan scared to be alone held on so tight to the glass that his hand started to bleed. Hearing footsteps thinking it was Jenny, Jonathan stepped out of hiding and into the house. When he walked towards the steps he noticed the picture of the two angels.

Jonathan thinking the angels would give him comfort Jonathan walked upstairs and found the archway Justin had wondered into. As he walked in the candles were lit, but Justin was nowhere to be found. He looked outside and saw his parents walking into the house. Jonathan ran to the upstairs bathroom and stepped into the shower hoping it would hide him. Jonathan still holding onto the picture, his father stormed into the bathroom but was unable to see Jonathan. Before he walked out he noticed that the shattered glass was laying in the shower. He opened the door and picked up the glass. He turned around and saw the picture of the children, he then walked downstairs and placed the shattered glass on the top of the head of Mrs. Winger, she was sitting on the couch and had no idea of the presence of her husband. Mr. Winger took the glass and forced the glass on the top of her head, he then turned and walked out the door.

Jonathan unsure why his father was unable to see him hiding in the shower, walked in the hall where the archway was. He was greeted by Justin and they walked the house. Jenny seeing her father walking toward the beach climbed down and walked into the house. Seeing her mother’s body, Jenny screamed. She searched frantically throughout the house for her two brothers. Searching the whole house she finally became exhausted and fell down on the floor. Upon waking up a few hours later, she found candles surrounding her and her brothers standing over her. She didn’t know if she was dead or alive.

Justin, Jenny, and Jonathan walked upstairs and tried to find help but again they were locked in the house. But this lock was different from the other locks, this lock was locked by a single piece of glass.

Trying to find help no one could hear them. Drake and Darin approached the Winger children and explained of their entrapment in the house. No longer was the mirror the item that entrapped the souls of children. It was the house. The children fought to leave the house but were unsuccessful. Justin took his mother’s body upstairs to the archway. Knowing he could not tell the story to anyone, decided he had to find a way for the story to be told with spoken words. He took the blood of his mother and wrote this story on the walls of empty archway.

June 28th 2007, the body of Jason Winger was found floating 3miles out to see. Cause of death, suicide.

Police searched the house and no body was found inside the house, upon reading the story police searched the surrounding areas for the children.

The house has been cleaned and open for renters, the first visitors found the writing on the wall and decided to leave town early. The owners painted over the writing, assuming it was kids vandalizing his house.

The house had many visitors in 2007 and each family and group renting this vacation home saw the same writing, along with strange phenomenons. The owner closed up the room upstairs in hopes that the vandalism would cease.

Although the room is sealed, visitors have heard of footsteps, as well as talking, laughing, playing, pounding on walls, as well as doors shutting without any force.

Although most Americans do not believe ghost phenomenons, there is a force within this house. Many religious Americans do believe in demonic presence. Whether you believe in ghosts or demons, this vacation home should be demolished and its remains disposed in the ocean in which Jason Winger layed dead

Julian, Justin, Jenny, and Jonathan Winger have yet to be found.
